18/02/2017: After two days of competition and 100 boards played, the elimination rounds of the 2017 Cavendish pairs have given their verdict : 22 pairs can still dream of winning. The winners of this phase are Antonio Palma & Juan-Carlos Ventin before the Americano-Canadians John Hurd and Vincent Demuy and the AngloSwedish Gunnar Hallberg and Peter Bertheau. Pierre Zimmermann and Franck Multon, representing the Principality of Monaco, qualified easily, as well as 5 French pairs who will also be ready to enter the arena today ! Philippe Soulet and Philippe Cronier finished 6th, François Combescure and Jérôme Rombaut 8th, Marc Bompis et Hervé Vinciguerra 13th, Michel Abecassis and Alain Levy 17th. et Jean-Jacques Palau et Jean-claude Solari 21st. The final of 42 boards starts and ends today the 19th.
