In the Open Teams Championship Israel took Gold, Monaco Silver in a real nailbiter. England took the bronze and the other three teams heading for Chennai are Poland, Bulgaria and Germany!

Netherlands Women Gold Opatija 2014The Netherlands win Gold in the Women’s Series, with a very narrow margin over England who take the Silver Medal. France came third and the other three teams to complete the line-up for the Venice Cup in Chennai are Italy, Poland and Denmark.

This year due to the large number of participants, the 52nd European Bridge Teams Championships Open format was changed as follows: Till today is being played a first Round Robin, with the teams divided into two groups. The first 9 teams from each group advance to the next stage, which will be another Round Robin. The first six countries of the second RR, will classify to represent the eurozone in the next World Cup in Chennai, India 2015. The ladies play only one Round Robin.
