Snellers team had to win 20-0 their last match of qualifications against Ireland to get a seat in the final. Their task was not easy facing Lavazza, one of the strongest combinations in the world. But Agnes Snellers, Wubbo de Boer, Joris van Lankveld and Berend van den Bos did it smartly defeating Zia Mahmood, Dennis Bilde, Giorgio Duboin and Agustin Madala 45-28. So Agnes Snellers, after Rita Shugart (1994) and Marion Michielsen (2013) was one of the only lady players to win this prestigious event. Note that Wubbo de Boer won it in 1998, 17 years ago. Mahmood and Bilde will have the consolation of having won the Butler during the qualifications.
