“Every day is a new opportunity. You can build on yesterday’s success or put its failures behind and start over again. That’s the way life is, with a new game every day, and that’s the way baseball is” – Bob Feller

The Great American Bridge Tour began the Dallas North American Bridge Championships by winning the opening round of the Educational Foundation Knockout. We made our mistakes, combined them with our successes and gained an entry into the second round.

I have never seen a perfectly played match, and I am certain that while it is possible to do so, that I am unlikely to ever experience one. There are simply too many variables.errores, mistakes

My friends often ask how my team fared and my typical response is “We survived”. I have come to use this expression as a result of the recognition of my own frailties as a competitor. I make a fair number of errors, just fewer than most of my opponents. Hence, virtually all matches are lost as opposed to won.

Today we survived, tomorrow is another story to be read.
