Bridge & Humor: St. Peter

A man arrives at the Pearly Gates and St. Peter asks him if he’s done any good.

The man says no.

So St. Peter asks the man to give an account of his bravery.

The man says, “I was playing a bridge match in London between England and Germany. The score was 50-50 and there was only one more board to play when my opps arrived to a vulnerable spade game.

I decided to sacrifice in 5 clubs…one down…

In the other room my partners played also 4 spades… one down…

So we lost by few IMPs”

“Well,” responds St. Peter, “That was not a real act of bravery, but can you tell me when this took place?”

“Certainly,” the man replies. “About three minutes ago.”
