Just finished the auction before the Cavendish Invitational Pairs – for the sponsor, kibitzers or fans – everybody could bet for a pair, buying the rights to its prize. The money collected during the auction will be distributed between the owners of the top ranked pairs at the end of the tournament.
This year for the first time the Ladies Cavendish Invitational Pairs is played, and the ladies pairs entered the auction with a minimum value of € 2,000 while the pairs of the Cavendish Invitational Pairs had a minimum value of € 5,000.
The total raised from the auction was 878,000 Euros. The best price was paid for Fantoni-Nunes: 57.000 €, and the best price among the ladies went to d’Ovidio – Eythorsdottir: 7.000 €.
