The Schapiro Trophy 2015

The Spring Fours is one of the great events in the English calendar. Held at the Holiday Inn, the principal event the Schapiro Trophy has become one of the toughest events in domestic bridge. It is run on double-elimination lines over nine sessions each of 32 boards.

May 5th:

The Hinden team is the 2015 Schapiro Trophy winner.

The Schapiro Spring Fours reached the final, with the competition concluding Tuesday 5th May, evenning.

The final was:

2nd seed Hinden (Jeffrey Allerton, Jon Cooke, Frances Hinden, Graham Osborne)
vs
8th seed Vitas (Lotan Fisher, Waseem Naqvi, Wojtek Olanski, Dror Padon, Ron Schwartz, Vitas Vainikonis)

It is played over 32 boards and will be shown on vugraph on Bridge Base Online.


Due to the generous sponsorship arrangement in place for this event, prizes were approximately twice the normal EBU value. The EBU expressed his gratitude to Mrs Helen Schapiro in supporting this most prestigious event, and in donating a trophy in the name of her husband, the late, and truly great, Boris Schapiro.

The  Schapiro Spring Foursomes is part of the Championship Series, in which points can be earned towards the Player of the Year Championship.
