The European Champions’ Cup event started in 2002. It is an annual competition for the national club champions from the top 10 countries in the previous European Championship. In addition the host nation may enter two teams, meaning twelve participants in total.
The 2015 event will be held at Horwood House on the edge of Milton Keynes, approximately one hour’s drive north of London. Map
An Italian team has won on 11 of the 13 occasions the competition has been held – the other winners have come from Germany (2006) and Netherlands (2010). A list of previous winners is available here.
England has been represented in the competition on seven previous occasions, with a highest finish of 6th. England has selected teams using a number of events but for some years now the winners of the Premier League are invited to represent England. As England are acting as hosts they are also invited to enter a second team.

Simon Gillis, Tom Hanlon, Zia Mahmood, Boye Brogeland, Espen Lindqvist, Erik Saelensminde.
Spectators are welcome to watch at the venue (though there will not be a vugraph theatre). The event will also be shown on Bridge Base Online.
Schedule
Thursday 12th November: 10am – 9:30pm
Friday 13th November: 10am – 7:40pm
Saturday 14th November: 9:30am – 8:30pm
Format
Initially there will be a complete round-robin with 11 matches of 10 boards. Semi-Finals and Final will be held in two segments of 16 boards. All the teams will play until the end.
For the Semi-Finals and Final, the 12 teams will be divided into 3 groups according to their ranking at the end of the round-robin.
1 to 4: Group A For the Semi-Finals, 1 choses his opponent between 3 and 4
5 to 8: Group B For the Semi-Finals, 5 choses his opponent between 7 and 8
9 to 12: Group C For the Semi-Finals, 9 choses his opponent between 11 and 12
At the end of the Semi-Finals, the winners from the same groups meet as do the losers; this allows a complete ranking from 1 to 12.

The winning team will receive the Trophy the title of European Champion Club as well as the right to participate in the next edition.
