Here a funny hand reported by Christina Lund Madsen.

Christina Lund Madsen

I will give you a funny board from the last and decisive match in the tournament. Martin’s team needed 18 VP’s to win the title. After a bad start this board came up:

East opened 1 and Martin Schaltz with A K Q (third),  added 1. The BBO comentators immediatly asked the VG operator, and he confirmed the bid.

Martin mercifully didn’t double  😆 .  Lead K (Asking for count), cashing the A and Q next. Down one with his opponents cold for nine top tricks in NT.

NS were the only NS pair with a positive score among the 12 tables.

Martin and his team won the match 16-14 and the tournament 3 VP’s ahead of no. 2.

 All the best, Christina
