First Set (10 Boards)

  The first swing appeared in the third board of the set:MC Tab 13

 After Madala’s 1 opening bid, the N/S partnership with no competition landed in a 2 contract, they scored +140. MC Tab 13At the other table after the same opening bid: 1,  North chose to show his spade suit and after his partner’s 1NT second bid he decided to show his 5 spades with a 2 rebid.

Bilde took the opportunity to show his diamond suit with a double, Sneller said 2 and Zia risked 3…that was the final contract.

As expected, Zia found the diamond lady, scoring +110…and the first 6 IMPs of the final for his team.

In board 15 Lavazza added another 4 IMPs. But in Board 16 Snellers managed to keep playing a partscore in spades where Madala-Duboin went one down in 4, recovering 5 IMPs.

In Board 17 Lavazza added another 2 IMPs, the two tables were down one in the same contract but nobody dared to double Zia.

MC Tab 18In Board 18, again Snellers played and make a partscore where Lavazza risked the game with one down … now the match was, Lavazza: 12 – Snellers 11.

Board 20 decided the final outcome when Snellers at one of the tables played a cold 6, while in the other table Zia-BildeMC Tab 20 after a cruel competition decided to double his opps 5 contract. The board was 14 IMPs for Snellers
