2012 Buffett Cup

Date of 2012 Buffett Cup Set

The date for the 2012 Buffett Cup match, the fourth in the series, has now been set. It will take place from September 10th to 13th 2012 – and where better for it to be played than in Omaha, Nebraska, home of the man whose name adorns the cup itself, Warren Buffett (pictured)? The venue will be the ideal setting for this now well-established transatlantic challenge match, designed to pit the best players from the United States and Europe against each other.

As on previous occasions the two teams of twelve players will play a mixture of teams, pairs and individual matches to help establish the winning side – a format loosely modeled on that of the prestigious Ryder Cup in golf. The running score now stands at 2 to 1 in favour of the Americans. The competition will again be broadcast live on Vugraph at Bridge Base Online.
