March 17th

Last year, 45 of the greatest players, writers and teachers joined together for a fundraising auction on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Association. Bob Hamman, Bobby Wolff, Larry Cohen, Eric Rodwell, Sabine Auken, Janice Seamon-Molson, Michael Rosenberg and Steve Weinstein are a few of the world-class players who participated. The auction was held online, and the winning bidders got to play a ACBL masterpoint game on BBO with these amazing players. The auction, which was put together by Bruce Greenspan and Judy Cardin, raised more than $13,000 to fight this dreaded disease of Alzheimer’s.

This year, they’re doing it again, and the auction is going worldwide. Boye Brogeland, Norberto Bocchi, Andrew Robson, David Lindop and Benito Garozzo of the famed Italian Blue Team (no you don’t have to play four-card majors!) have already signed on.

In addition, world-class teachers have generously donated their time to give a two-hour lesson on BBO for you and your friends. Barbara Seagram and Lynn Berg are among those who joined the fight.

Special Alert: A trip to George’s World is up for grabs. Don’t miss your opportunity to have dinner with Bridge Bulletin columnist George Jacobs. Find out if Claude is real or a figment of George’s imagination. George will analyze your card from the day’s play. We pay for dinner, you pay for the drinks.

The auction begins May 15 and continues through “The Longest Day” on June 21. For more information, contact Bruce at greenspanbridge@ yahoo.com. Don’t miss this fabulous opportunity to play with and learn from the best of all time.
