Thirteen I kibitzers surrounded the players in a slam-bound bridge game at the Kansas City Athletic club.

Kibitzer Jay Jacobstein was called to a nearby telephone.

After a few words into the phone, he shouted to the bridge players:

“Wait, wait, don’t start. ”

Thinking he had a message, they waited until he hung up.

He strolled back and remarked:

“May I review the bidding?”
