59 years ago, in January 1957 the The British Bridge World magazine edited by Terence Reese, published:

Juan and Meredith criticised the lead, prefering the safer 9. Mr. Truscott defended the lead and said that Mr. Schapiro agreed with him. It would be very interesting to hear some more
opinions.” and he asked its readers:
