The formula of the Monaco Teams Cavendish will be:

  • Swiss Tournament with 7 rounds of 10 boards, with bonus for rounds 3 to 7,
  • After 7 rounds, Teams 1 & 2 play the Final (2 * 10 boards), with carry-over,
  • After 7 rounds, the other teams play 2 more rounds of 10 boards (Swiss).
The Scoring System in the Cavendish:  One thing characterizing the Cavendish is, without any  doubt, the scoring system, with the application of different and special conversion table, often uncertain till the end, their exact choice being an option in the hands of the organizers.
For the Cavendish of Monaco Team, till the last moment, there was a doubt about using the same 30-0 conversion table used the year before (a very special conversion table, with an extreme “sensibility” at any difference in the results) or the 25-0 conversion table (more “relaxing”), opting at the end for the latest.
