At the Austin Regional last week, the youngest pair in the room were Taylor Compton, 13, of Dallas and Isha Thapa, 17, of Palo Alto, who were preparing for their debut on the World Bridge stage as members of the United States Bridge Federation Under 26 Young Ladies team. Isha and Taylor were in Austin working together under the watchful eye of Taylor’s parents, Donna and Chris Compton.

Mitch Towner 25, of Austin was also playing in the Austin Regional. He too is preparing for his debut representing the United States Bridge Federation as a member of our Under 26 Open team.

The Junior World Championships will be contested from July 25th through August 4th in Tai Cang City, China, (near Shanghai). Prior to departing for China, Taylor, Isha, and Mitch will continue fine tuning their game at the Summer NABC in Philadelphia beginning July 12th.

Taylor will begin 8th grade in the fall at Good Shepherd Episcopal School in Dallas, while Isha will be an entering freshman at University of California Berkley. Mitch is a PhD candidate at the University of Texas at Austin. Best wishes to all these young players who reflect so well on our wonderful game! Good Luck to each of them from all of us!
