Gus Hansen joins the CBI Pro/Am to defend his title

The Danish Bridge Federation is proud to announce the participation of Danish poker star Gus Hansen at the pro/am-tournament introducing the 2nd edition of the Copenhagen Bridge Invitational held at the Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center in Copenhagen, Denmark, from the 21st –24th of February 2013.

Gus Hansen is defending champion from the CBI pro/am 2010 partnering Irish star Tom Hanlon, who is also a skilled pokerplayer. They will strive to defend their title at the CBI pro/am the 21stof February 2013. As in 2010 both the pro/am and the main event will be broadcasted on BBO.

20 international top pairs lined up

All invitations have now been issued and accepted. 15 international and five Danish pairs are ready to battle for prestige and prizes.

Among the international participants are two of the Swedish world champion pairs from the World Bridge Games in Lille 2012, Peter Bertheau – Per-Ola Cullin and Fredrik Nyström – Johan Upmark.

Zia is playing with Norwegian star Boye Brogeland, and from the United States multiple American champions Marty Fleisher and Michael Kamil are participating along with Roy Welland partnering Sabine Auken, considered the strongest female player in the world.

Among the rising stars we find Thomas Bessis of France partnering his father Michel Bessis and from Denmark world junior champion Martin Schaltz with Lars Blakset and two times world junior champion Dennis Bilde, who recently added two North American titles to his resumé, playing with his world junior champion partner Emil Jepsen.
