On Friday February 7th, in the Hotel Princesa Sofia of Barcelona began the fifth edition of the Barcelona International Open Bridge Pairs Tournament.

 A field of 161 pairs were divided in the 81 tables placed in the magnificent hotel’s game lounges to play the first 26 boards. At the end of the first day of play, Michael GROMOELLER – Christian DOEBIG from Germany lead the field with the 65.5%.

 Second from Spain:  Conchita GROSS – Paco MARIMON with the 63,00% and also from Spain in third place: Jose Ignacio TORRES – Antonio FRANCES.
