After agreeing in hearts and some controls, Madala asked KC, but there was some disagreement because when his partner declared the heart slam, Madala went in the tank. Everyone wondered what he was thinking … and minutes later the operator of VG wrote: Madala has the 7 bid in his hand.  Madala bidded the grand slam and the lead was the A, for down one and 11 IMPs for W/E. Now the match was Allegra 14-Het Witte Huis 17, and Het Witte Huis was second.

In the next 4 Boards Allegra added 14 IMPs recovering the leadership and Board 19 gave the coup de grace.
