Today started the World Teams Championships, played in three categories: Open, Ladies and Seniors.

Among them: the Lavazza team. For the first time one of the best Argentinean pairs: Alejandro Bianchedi and Ernesto Muzzio are playing together in this team, also one of the recent winners of the Mixed Teams World Championship : Zia Mahmood, and the World Champions: Agustin Madala, Norberto Bocchi and Georgio Duboin, all led by the legendary Maria Teresa Lavazza.

From USA, among others is participating the Nickell team: Meckstroth-Rodwell, Weinstein-Levin, Nickell-Katz, this team includes the best coach in the world: Eric Kokish.Ismael del Monte-Migry Zur

The Fleisher, besides its usual partnerships, include one of the best Australian players: Ishmael DELMONTE (Australia) who is playing with Brad Moss (USA). The Diamond team incorporated for this occasion a world champion pair from Holland: Brink-Drijver. Cayne as always is participating with a powerful team: Versace-Lauria; Balicki-Zmudzinski and Cayne-Seamon.

For the Rosenblum Teams, the first day (October 18) will be a qualification phase consisting of a Swiss with 8 matches of 7 boards, qualifying approximately 50% of the field for the semi-final A; the rest of the teams will play the semi-final B. Both semi-finals will be a Swiss, of 8 x 7 board matchesplayed on the second day (October 19). The leading 27 teams of the A semi-final and the 5 teams of the B semi-final will go on to play the knock-out phase.

Some of the favorites are: the Moss team, where is playing the recent winner of  World Pairs Championship (with Jack Zhao): Kerri Sanborn. The Joel team: Benedicte CRONIER (Francia)-Sylvie WILLARD (Francia); Victoria GROMOVA (Rusia)-Tatiana PONOMAREVA (Rusia); Geeske JOEL (U.S.A.) – Tobi SOKOLOW (U.S.A.).
