Just completed the fourth edition of this international event today we are publishing the last of the series of interviews that the Grand World Master Norberto Bocchi performed to some of the world’s most famous participants of this IV Barcelona Open.

Today Norberto chose Bas Drijver: professional bridge player and one of the great Open bridge players of Netherlands and the world. Bas Drijver has been successful with Sjoert Brink since they were young, winning several national and international tournaments, including the IOC Grand Prix Junior Teams in Salt Lake City in 2002. Bas debuted on the national team (playing with Maarten Schollaardt), winning silver during the 2004 Olympiad. Thereafter he rekindled his partnership with Sjoert Brink, finishing third at the Open European Championships and at the Bermuda Bowl in 2007. He has been part of the national team since 2004, and his greatest successes include winning the European Champions Cup in 2010 and winning the Open European Championships in 2009. Bas is an in-house counsel attorney two days a week and otherwise a professional bridge player. He also likes playing tennis and is married with two children. Source: BridgeWinners.
