The 51st edition
of the European Bridge Team
Championships is being held in Citywest
Hotel, Dublin, Ireland, from 12 to 23 June 2012.
As usual, the Championships comprise three
series for Open, Women and Senior national
teams.
The
Open Category will play two round robins. In the
first stage of the Championship, the panel is
divided into two groups. Each of these groups
play a round robin. The Championship Final
Ranking will emerge from the results of the
second RR played by the first 9 best positioned
countries in the previous RR's (the matches
played in qualifying and played in the final).
In
the second match of the first day, Italy played
against Hungary and this is what happened in Board
11.

The Hungarian player decided to open his hand with a 1
call, and Duboin showed his heart suit. Sementa
named his spades and South repeated his club suit.
Finally Italy played a 3
contract. Declarer only lost 1 trick in each suit
and scored 140.

showed his two colored hand FG, and Madala showed 3
cards in each major. Bocchi closed the heart game
and West with all those hearts doubled...
