Bridge & Humor: Surgeons vs Bridge Players

Duplicate bridge in a club or tournament is considered a competitive sport, it will probably scare all the novices away from the tournament, but this story is often told by duplicate players:

A team of physicians from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, studying stress, compared a group of 41 players at a bridge tournament with a group of 12 surgeons examined before and after operating schedules that lasted from two to eight hours.

Their report: “While the surgeons were under moderate stress among with some physical strain, the bridge players, we consider, were under severe stress in view of the fact that a duplicate bridge tournament is highly competitive.”
