2014 Marbella International Bridge Tournament
From 6 to 8 November was played the first edition of the 2014 Marbella International Bridge Tournament. The event venue was the beautiful Fuerte Marbella Hotel, located in a superb area, right on the beachfront and close to the town centre.
The MIBT started with a Warm Up Tournament that was won by Paul Fenn – Roar Sletner.
The first positions were:
1 64,5% Paul Fenn – Roar Sletner
2 60,95% Eva Akesson – Leif Akesso
3 59,8% Pierre Labboz – Bjorn Odden
4 58,1% Andre Laszlo – Bjorn Hamrin
5 57,9% Roland Gyllenhammar – Peter Ventura

The first edition of the Pairs Tournament involved 89 pairs. The field competed for a top prize of 1250 euros awarded by GWM Wealth Management Group plus two beautiful GWM trophies.
Eight pairs received special prizes: 1st Men’s Pair; 1st Ladies’s Pair, 1st Mixed Pair; 1st Junior Pair
After two arduous sessions the winning pair was Joao Paes de Carballo – Goçalves Paulo Pereira from Portugal.
Second arrived a pair from Spain: Antonio Francés Velasco – José Ignacio Torres Gutiérrez and third, also from Spain, Carmen Cafranga de Martorell – Almudena Martorell Cafranga.
