lazo negroErnesto d’Orsi died on January 9, 2015 at age 78.

Ernesto was one of the WBF Board members since 1980 to date, board he chaired from 1991 to 1992, and since 2008 he was the President of the South American Bridge Confederation.

Among the most prominent distinctions he received we can mention: Since 1986 HMember of the WBF Committee of Honour, in 1994 he received the Personality of the Year award from the International Bridge Press Association (IBPA) and in 2005 the WBF’s Gold Medal.

Ernesto was great in every way, all South America will suffer this irreparable loss and more these editors.

We know that in times like these, no word is sufficient, however, we want to send to his family, and to the Southamerican bridge family and to the world bridge family our sincere condolences on the demise of one of the men who work tirelessly for the development of bridge around the world.

Adiós querido amigo. Goodbye dear friend.
